Dr McGregor completed his Medical Degree with first class honours from the University of Queensland. Following this he completed and was awarded a PhD from Monash University. He completed his advanced surgical training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
He is a busy General Surgeon with a mixed public and private practice based on the north side of Brisbane.
He developed an interest in proctology due to the extreme suffering that he saw in his patients with anal conditions and the high volume of patients presenting with these common problems.
He realised that the model of care for patients with anal conditions needed to be improved, as well as the techniques to treat these common problems and launched the clinic to treat these problems.
Dr McGregor now performs the highest volume of haemorrhoid surgery in Brisbane and has performed the most HALRAR procedure and selective stapling than any surgeon in Australia. He is accredited with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia in endoscopy and colonoscopy. He also has a special interest in hernia repair and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.
He and Dr Watson are fully dedicated to each patient’s wellbeing and ensuring that each patient has full resolution of their symptoms.
